WHEELING, W.Va., Dec. 9, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- TROY Group is proud to announce its partnership with the Wheeling division of The Salvation Army to bring the holiday spirit alive through a cherished tradition—bell ringing. Team members from TROY Group will be participating in this heartfelt effort on Saturday, December 16, and Saturday, December 23, at the Mt Dechantal Kroger grocery store. Together with the Wheeling Salvation Army, TROY Group is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of many this holiday season.
Donations collected in the iconic red kettles during these events play a vital role in supporting the Wheeling and Moundsville Salvation Army offices’ critical daily services. These services make a profound impact on the local community, providing hot lunches, warming shelters, a thrift store on 16th Street, rental assistance, food distribution in collaboration with other agencies, and support for utility bills—along with additional aid as needed.
“The Salvation Army’s work resonates deeply with our values at TROY Group,” said Eric Howard, Director of Marketing at TROY Group. “This holiday season, we are honored to stand alongside them and contribute directly to the services that make our community stronger.”
Bell ringing has been a hallmark of the Salvation Army’s mission during the holiday season for over a century. The tradition dates back to 1900, when a young Salvation Army volunteer first used a bell to catch the attention of passersby and encourage donations. Today, the familiar sound of the bell and sight of red kettles continue to symbolize hope and generosity during December’s festivities.
The Salvation Army has a long history of meeting human needs, without discrimination, across America. Through a network of 6,401 centers of operation, the organization served nearly 27.5 million people in 2023. From providing food and shelter to offering emergency disaster relief and addiction rehabilitation services, The Salvation Army addresses the most pressing challenges communities face nationwide.
Locally, the funds raised during the bell ringing collaboration with TROY Group will directly impact those in need, enabling the Wheeling Salvation Army to sustain and expand its essential programs for the community.
TROY Group invites the community to join this effort by visiting the Mt Dechantal Kroger grocery store on December 16 and December 23. Your contributions to the red kettles not only honor the traditions of the season but also bring critical support to the individuals and families who need it most.
Together, we can ensure that no one in our community feels left behind—this holiday season and beyond.
