Michael Wong served as a top economic advisor to U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema for more than a decade in both the House and Senate
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Michael Wong of the (BPI) has joined the Board of Directors of the (ITRC), a nationally recognized nonprofit organization established to support victims of identity crime.
At BPI, Wong serves as a Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and engages Members of Congress on issues of importance to the nation's leading banks. Before joining BPI, Wong served as a top economic advisor to U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) for more than a decade in the House and Senate – with experience on both the House Financial Services Committee and the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.

While working in the Senate, Wong earned a reputation as a bipartisan dealmaker and a skilled negotiator that could forge consensus on difficult issues. In 2018, Wong worked closely with the ITRC to pass the Protecting Children from Identity Theft Act, bipartisan legislation to crack down on synthetic identity theft and protect vulnerable populations. In the 117th Congress, Wong helped negotiate key provisions of landmark laws, including the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the American Rescue Plan Act and the Respect for Marriage Act.
Wong joins the ITRC's Board of Directors after the expiration of James Ruotolo of the term. The ITRC team and Board Directors thank Ruotolo for his dedication, leadership and commitment to the organization.
