BALTIMORE, Jan. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- , the preeminent provider of sustainable solutions for biosolids, organics and residuals in North America, today announced the renewal of municipal contracts by the City of Stamford, Connecticut; the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority in Camden County, New Jersey; the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, Florida; and the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District in Elk Grove, California.

Serving the City of Stamford, Connecticut, since 2008, Synagro Connecticut was awarded a five-year extension of its operation and maintenance contract by the Stamford Water Pollution Control Authority. In 2023, this facility processed more than 23,000 wet tons of biosolids and produced more than 3,900 tons of nutrient-rich pelletized fertilizer, with 98% of product sent to beneficial use.
Synagro Camden has served the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority since 2011 and was awarded a five-year contract extension. This facility provides biosolids drying operations and maintenance services that have been instrumental in improvements to the local community, including reducing odor and truck traffic.
The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County contracted to have a facility designed, built and operated for biosolids processing to service seven separate communities. The West Palm Beach, Florida, plant serves as a model of partnership, corporate citizenship and environmental sustainability and has been in operation since 2009. Synagro was awarded a five-year extension on its operation services contract. In 2023, this facility processed more than 127,700 wet tons of biosolids and produced more than 23,000 tons of nutrient-rich pelletized fertilizer. With 99% of residuals used for beneficial use in 2023, waste sent to landfills was minimal, resulting in maximum cost reductions and COâ‚‚e emissions savings. Biogas was used for 50% of the facility's energy requirements instead of natural gas, which prevented the release of approximately 1,000 metric tons COâ‚‚e.
Serving California's City of Sacramento and Sacramento County since 2004, the Synagro Organic Fertilizer Company of Sacramento, Inc. was awarded a 10-year contract extension. In 2023, this facility processed more than 35,000 wet tons of biosolids. With 99% of residuals used for beneficial use as nutrient-rich pelletized fertilizer in 2023, there were more than 2,400 metric tons of COâ‚‚e emissions savings.
