DENISON, Texas, Nov. 1, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- This blend of straight rye whiskey, finished in ex-Hungarian dessert wine casks, is a decadent treat not to be missed - Saints Alley Spirits, a joint venture between Jonathan Likarish, head distiller, and Chris Trevino, host of the popular YouTube channel, is proud to present the re-release of Saints Alley Nobleman. The award-winning rye whiskey, back for its fourth iteration, showcases a finely tuned balance of flavor and personality.
Using rich Tokaji wine casks, noted for their distinct, dark, honey-like sweetness, Saints Alley Nobleman is a fine sipping treat worthy of stories. This exceptional blended rye whiskey is a stunning marriage worthy of anyone who cracks its bottle lid.
Saints Alley Nobleman is an expertly crafted blend of MGP Rye (95% rye mash bill) and Ironroot Rye with a 60% Rye and 40% Corn mash bill. Bringing the traditional MGP floral and citrus flavors together with the Ironroot flavor profile of natural sweetness and depth to the middle palate with dark flavors of cocoa, coffee, and tobacco, this is already a bottling of legacy unto itself.
Nobleman explodes, however, in new tasting directions with the use of a Tokaji wine-finishing cask. Tokaji is a sweeter Hungarian dessert wine with luscious fruit notes of apricot, peach, raisin, and pear. It is particularly dense and has a dark honey-like sweetness that can become savory.
"With the initial rye blend," notes Likarish, "the MGP brings all the treble notes, and Ironroot plays the bass line to create a fantastic balance. The Tokaji cask finish is the showstopper, bringing a heft to the mid-palate and length to the finish of the rye whiskey."
Of note for Saints Alley Nobleman is its essential proof point of 107. It is a sweet spot for this whiskey in supporting the intensity of flavors it encompasses, a natural equilibrium point where the flavors of the rye whiskeys and the Tokaji sing equally without overpowering one another, ensuring a balanced and high-quality product.
Nobleman, named for the Noble Rot fungus that infects Tokaji wine grapes to give them their distinct flavors, is a whiskey whose third release saw it win medals at distinguished spirits competitions. Most notably, it was named Best American Rye Whiskey by the World Whiskies Awards.
"I was completely surprised and humbled that the Nobleman won such a prestigious award," says Likarish. "We thought that it tasted fantastic and knew that it had been well received by whiskey drinkers but did not expect such amazing recognition."
The latest release of Saints Alley Nobleman, comprised of around 2,600 750 ml bottles, is being distributed nationwide at Total Wine & More retail stores and sold on-site at Ironroot Republic Distillery in Denison, Texas. It is priced at $79.99. While this will be a very limited edition, more releases of this highly desired expression will be forthcoming.
