Doyle Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is the oldest Chrysler dealership in Canada with a rich history dating back to the early 1900's. British immigrant, Percy Gardner, arrived from England in 1907 and was hired by Sudbury lumber baron, William Bell, to tend to his horses. Bell needed a private chauffeur, so he sent Gardner out on a cumulative eight-week course to gain a comprehensive understanding of cars. After his studies and driving the first new, four-cylinder car model brought to the area, Gardner developed a love for motor vehicles. In 1921, Gardner opened his own dealership, Gardner's Garage, which is now called Doyle Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
Gardner's son, Bill, took over the dealership in the 1960's. In 1965, Parts Manager, Leo Doyle, brought on his 15-year-old son, Mike Doyle, to work alongside him. Mike continued working at the dealership throughout college, becoming a Sales Manager, General Manager, and in 1986, took over the dealership after the passing of Bill Gardner. Mike's son, Brian Doyle, and Sales Manager, Blake Didone, took over operations, continuing the dealership's 100-year-old success story.
