Available only as a special auction lot, this noteworthy wine is a tribute to their decades-long friendship and shared pursuit of highest-quality winemaking.
This exceptional 2021 cuvée is crafted of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced from the renowned Mitsuko's Vineyard in Carneros, and is a true representation of Napa Valley terroir. Aged on tirage for over three years, the wine is finished with a distinctive dosage from Charles Krug's 2019 Carneros Pinot Noir, bringing complex personality and elegance to each sip.
"Peter and I have known each other since we were children. We've always shared a love for Napa Valley, and have championed each other throughout our careers," said Paula Kornell. A highly exclusive offering, with only five cases produced for the 2025 Premiere Napa Valley, this sparkling wine is a collector's treasure, embodying the craftsmanship and heritage of two storied Napa Valley families.

Paula Kornell, daughter of Hanns Kornell—a legendary pioneer of Napa Valley's traditional sparkling wine—established her namesake line with the 2017 vintage, drawing on four generations of sparkling wine expertise and a lifelong connection to Napa Valley. This is her third exclusive sparkling wine offering for Premiere Napa Valley. In 2020, she first debuted "Something Old, Something New," a rare 2018 sparkler featuring a unique dosage from her father's original winery, dating back to the 1970s. In 2023, she honored her mother, Marilouise Kornell, with a stunning Blanc de Blancs.
This year's special Wine Lot, "Old Friends," will be available during the Live Auction on Saturday, February 22, held at the Culinary Institute of America.
