Launched in 2024, Objects With Origin (OWO) is redefining how American audiences experience the elegance and craftsmanship of French Home accessories. This innovative platform showcases unique, high-quality pieces created by celebrated designers and emerging artists, each rooted in distinct and recognized savoir-faire.
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --
At the helm of this venture is Kerem Oueini, a French entrepreneur and former head of furniture and home accessories development for the iconic luxury brand Hermès. Having relocated to Los Angeles two years ago with his wife and children, Kerem Oueini was inspired to bring the charm of French artistry to the U.S. market.
"I followed my wife, who was offered a position in the cosmetics industry here in LA," Kerem shares.
"I quickly began collaborating with an interior design and architecture studio in Venice Beach on a furniture line development project." Immersing himself in the local design scene, he noticed a significant gap: "The design offerings in Los Angeles lack comfort and durability. Many brands play it safe, relying on renowned designers. There's a clear opportunity for more creative, sophisticated, and distinctly French objects that captivate the American imagination."
With the support of the French community, Kerem Oueini quickly developed a robust business model. He secured a warehouse in Long Beach, built a network of collaborators, and attracted a mix of established and emerging French artists and designers eager to enter the U.S. market.
The first to join was Sarah Poniatowski, the celebrated interior designer behind Maison Sarah Lavoine, who saw OWO as an ideal opportunity to expand her reach in the United States. Other notable brands soon followed, including:
- Color Therapis: Hand-tufted cushions by Lavinia Augeai.
- Maison Maison Paris: A line of candles and home fragrances by Jordan Tison.
- Pierre Audouard: Handcrafted ceramics from Marseille.
- Lala Touffe: Playful textile art featuring whimsical depictions of fried eggs, sausages, and baguettes.
Looking ahead, OWO plans to grow its curated collection, inviting additional French brands and potentially expanding to include artists and designers from Europe and beyond. "Our mission is to spotlight French talent and their exceptional craftsmanship, but we're open to including international creators who share the same commitment to quality and originality," he says.
OWO aims to connect with both individual consumers and industry professionals. "We want to reach a broad audience," Kerem O. explains, "but we're also activating a B2B strategy, collaborating with home-staging agencies where our pieces can be showcased and inspire potential buyers."
Stay tuned as this bold initiative unfolds.
