Author has created a 52-day program to help readers improve the health of their brain, body and belief system
IOWA CITY, IOWA, Jan. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A new book utilizes the from the Old Testament to create a strategic guide intended to help readers take ownership and responsibility for their health to improve mental, physical and spiritual well-being.
In "The Nehemiah 52 Day Challenge," author Maureen Greer was inspired by the story of Nehemiah and how his own personal health and beliefs helped him to spur his fellow Jews to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem in 52 days. Greer's book operates on her belief that if someone takes 52 days to work on anything concerning health, with a serious effort, they will see improvement or change. She adds that the changes could lead to a ripple effect that will benefit others, just as the rebuilding of the Wall of Jerusalem improved the wellness of the Jewish community.
"I hope to inspire people to take ownership of their health by realizing we have this responsibility," said Greer. "This way we are able to do God's will, and others can benefit from our good health."
Greer's background in education, nursing, health coaching and nutrition along with her pursuit to learn from God all encouraged her to write this book and encourage others as they rebuild their "wall of health." When her sixth child was born with Down syndrome, she continued researching the brain and body connection and the impact that diet and lifestyle have on the development of the whole person and in optimizing brain, physical, and spiritual health. Her pursuit to optimize the best cognition and health of her daughter and the rest of her children led her to the area of functional nutrition/medicine and neuroplasticity. She is passionately diligent to help all people, including children, gain a better brain, body, and belief using Scripture and sound health guidance.
"We are responsible for our own health, mentally, physical and spiritually," said Greer, "and this means that we need to make good choices about how we nourish ourselves with food, with thoughts, with entertainment, with our schedule, with exercise, with relationships, and even how we perform our jobs and our other daily activities."
