Author compiled information from antique books and publications in the Library of Congress collection
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Jan. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- From 1993-1994, author Thomas W. Jacobson conducted research at the Library of Congress, including in the Rare Book Room, to learn how America's Founding Fathers thought about rights of conscience, religious liberty, religion, government, public policy, and nations. He ended up discovering the writings of clergy, private leaders, and public leaders from the 1700s. As he read from private leaders (e.g., Thomas Clap, Samuel Adams), and public leaders (e.g., George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison), he noticed they were declaring the same truths and principles that the preachers had already taught them, yet without quoting the Bible.
In "Fire At The Founding," Jacobson compiled the quotes that he felt clearly conveyed the key points of their messages and shares how what the clergy taught first became the truths and principles communicated by the other leaders. He explains that the public and government leaders put those truths and principles as the foundation of America's nation and constitution.
"Because the Church has largely lost its rightful and noble influence in our nation," said Jacobson, "the nation is on a rapid path of self-destruction. The only hope for restoration is in the LORD through the clergy, men and the Church. Those who want to save and restore our beloved nation will find the Bible and books like this to be essential for rebuilding the foundations."
Jacobson began this project because of his deep concern for the rapid decline of the United States, and this book was the longest chapter of a larger unpublished manuscript. While serving as Representative to the United Nations for "," he shared it with Tom Minnery, then Senior Vice President of Government and Public Policy. Minnery was surprised by the extraordinary
passion and influence of the clergy and recommended that Jacobson publish the chapter on the preachers as a stand-alone book. This edition also includes bible study, discussions and sermon notes.
"May this book inspire clergy and Christians to rise up," said Jacobson, "and be light, salt, and 'the pillar and support of the truth' (1 Timothy 3:15), to restore the Church and our nation."
