VERONA, Italy, Nov. 22, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Italian Wine Podcast proudly celebrates the success of the Vinitaly Roadshow Kazakhstan 2024, held at the prestigious Rixos Almaty Hotel on November 18th in Almaty. This inaugural edition for the country underscored the strengthening of ties between Italy and Kazakhstan while highlighting the pivotal role of this emerging market in the global appreciation of Italian wines.
The Vinitaly Roadshow provided an opportunity for local professionals — including importers, distributors, sommeliers, retailers, and journalists — to immerse themselves in the rich diversity of Italian wines. The event created meaningful business connections and opened doors to new potential for growth. Organized by Veronafiere, the event was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan Marco Alberti, Veronafiere President Federico Bricolo, General Manager Adolfo Rebughini, Event Manager Margherita Maimeri and Stevie Kim, Managing Partner of Vinitaly.
The Roadshow in numbers
The Roadshow brought together a total of 36 Italian wineries and 9 importers in the city of Almaty, showcasing an impressive portfolio of 260 wines from 12 different Italian regions. Over 350 guests attended throughout the day, actively engaging in the walk around tasting, networking, and four highly anticipated masterclasses— all of which enjoyed full attendance.
One of the event's standout moments was the Vinitaly International Academy Italian Wine Ambassador Course pinning ceremony. Italian Ambassador Marco Alberti personally honored 12 newly accredited Italian Wine Ambassadors, further cementing the collaboration between the two nations.
An important step for Italian Wine
Highlighting the importance of the new partnership, Artem Lebedev, Italian Wine Ambassador from Kazakhstan, commented, "The Vinitaly Roadshow and the Vinitaly International Academy course held in Almaty marked a landmark event for Central Asia, a region that remains one of the least explored territories on the global wine map. This event highlights the immense potential of the market, both for the growth of wine consumption and the development of wine business. For Italian producers, it signals the emergence of a favorable environment for their products, as well as new opportunities to strengthen business connections. Almaty is becoming a key point in integrating Central Asia into the global wine industry."
Marco Alberti, Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan, said: "I firmly believe that the experience of wine is something that has a great potential in this country and in this region —potential that it is our responsibility to uncover and harness, not only with the professionals present here today but also with the new Ambassadors that will stay in the country."
Italian Wine Podcast, together with the other 18 Sponsors and Partners, is proud to have been a part of the event, building on the new and important relationship between the countries of Kazakhstan and Italy and further sharing the gospel of Italian wine.
