The Beryl Institute-Ipsos PX Pulse latest release reveals critical opportunities for US healthcare organizations.
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Beryl Institute and Ipsos released findings from the 16th edition of PX Pulse, a national survey tracking people's current perspectives on the healthcare experience they have across the United States. This report trends data related to consumer experience from December 2019 through the fourth quarter of 2024. This issue reveals that 92% of consumers continue to feel experience is important with most pointing to their own health and wellbeing as the reason why.
This issue takes a deeper dive into three topics around how consumers understand and engage in their healthcare. Key findings include:
- Most people are unaware of CMS Hospital Star Rating System and most rarely use it.
- Consumers express the need for control of healthcare decisions to be shared between patients and providers.
- Almost 20% of the U.S. population plays the role of caregiver, primarily for a family member, and most have difficulty navigating the healthcare system for the person they care for.
"In this release of PX Pulse, we get a true sense of the weight people carry as they experience healthcare today," said Jason A. Wolf, PhD, CPXP, President & CEO, The Beryl Institute. "There are clear opportunities to help people identify where good experiences are happening, to be more active partners in their care decision making, and to ensure they have the support they need as family caregivers. Across the topics we explored in this issue, we find one common idea – we have an opportunity to inform and support people in better understanding and more effectively engaging in the healthcare system, as consumers, patients and family members."
