Xulon Press presents a teaching about the importance of having faith, a thought-provoking lesson for both believers and non-believers.
QUINTON, Va., Dec. 2, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Author Allen Daugherty provides readers with much-needed spiritual guidance and inspiration through troubled times in ($15.99, paperback, 9798868505799; $7.99, e-book, 9798868505805).
Allen Daugherty's life has had wonderful victories, bitter defeats, unbelievable miracles and horrible tragedies. A Christian for 50 years and a preacher for almost 30 years, he has witnessed many raging spiritual battles. Daugherty describes one battle that keeps the lost from receiving Christ and the second battle that wrecks the lives of those that do believe. He explains how a Christian's faith is seldom tested in the calm, but rather in the darkest storms. He acknowledges that amidst challenges, most people say, "Why God?" or "I just don't understand." As the thought-provoking topic of this book shares, one Bible verse can bring true peace through life's storms especially those situations that have no explanation. Daugherty wants his book to help readers cling to that verse as a safe haven through faith in Christ.
When asked what inspired the author to write this book, Daugherty said, "The Bible is the foundation for a Christian's faith. Through my 50 years as a Christian, I have seen the faith of many Christians tested. Some had wonderful victories, and others suffered a devastating defeat. I, unfortunately, was one of the latter. Seeing my 21-year-old son lying dead on his bedroom floor on Christmas Eve, 1999, totally crushed my soul. To make matters even worse, the pathologist could not find a reason for his death. Many of our Christian friends came to comfort us in this great loss. I heard scripture after scripture. We got through it, but this totally unexplainable event started creating doubts in my mind. The doubts multiplied and weighed heavy on my heart. Finally, I gave up and allowed my doubts and questions to drive me away from God. Then, 20 years later, I started making my way back Home to our merciful God. I wrote this book to help others avoid making the horrible mistake that I made. At 68 years old, I dearly regret wasting all those years. Always trust Him."
Allen Daugherty grew up in rural western Pennsylvania. As a young boy, he went with his parents to church most every Sunday. Not until his first year in the Air Force did he realize that he needed not only to believe in God, but also needed to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Daugherty now resides in Virginia, has three wonderful children and three precious grandchildren. Daugherty loves the outdoors and reading motivational books, and he is currently working in functional medicine. This year, 2024, is his 50th year working in healthcare, a job he does because he loves helping people. Daugherty was also a preacher for about 28 years. He pastored and started churches and held evangelistic meetings. This book has become very precious to him, and he knows it will be appreciated by the readers. He wants all to "Live this one verse and you'll have all the peace you'll need."
