Joachim is responsible for assigning, writing, and editing new recipes, reviews, and articles for the brand's website, books, and other publishing channels.

Joachim is responsible for assigning, writing, and editing new recipes, reviews, and articles for the brand's website, books, and other publishing channels. He will work closely with owner Meathead, President Clint Cantwell, and the rest of the team to maintain an editorial calendar and coordinate content across the brand's channels, including the website, newsletters, social media, and its 15,000-member . Joachim will also work with Vice President of Product Reviews, Max Good, to manage the company's annual Best New Products program and its extensive product review database. He will also assist in extending its range of content, including new digital cookbooks on topics such as pizza, hamburgers, and holiday cooking.
A 30-year veteran of food publishing, Joachim has authored, edited, or collaborated on more than 50 cookbooks, four of them on barbecue and grilling. His book, Mastering the Grill, was a New York Times bestseller and he co-wrote Mastering Pizza with James Beard Award-winning chef Marc Vetri. Joachim has been reviewing outdoor pizza ovens for AmazingRibs.com for more than 5 years. His other titles include The Food Substitutions Bible and The Science of Good Food, both winners of awards from the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP). For more than 7 years, Joachim co-wrote the Food Science column for Fine Cooking magazine.
Previously, Joachim was Editorial Director of WickedKitchen.com and returns as Editorial Director of AmazingRibs.com, a position he held from 2017 to 2021.
