Alcohol in Space: The Movie is now available on Amazon Prime. This documentary film is based on the book Alcohol in Space by Chris Carberry. The film is Directed by Sam Burbank.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 25, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Culture in Space Productions (CiSP) is pleased to announce the release of its first full-length documentary film, Alcohol in Space, on Amazon Prime (). Directed by Sam Burbank, the film is based on the book Alcohol in Space (), by Chris Carberry and tells the story of passionate innovators exploring the prospect of alcohol production and consumption in space. The film features vignettes of the eternal relationship between humanity and intoxicating beverages.

Alcohol in Space premiered at the prestigious Explorers Club in New York City to a standing- room-only audience on October 11, 2024. According to Sam Burbank, "Premiering Alcohol in Space at the Explorers Club headquarters in NYC was a dream come true. The club leadership and members couldn't have been more welcoming, and the Q and A at the screening went on so long, we had to shut it down with still half a dozen hands raised for questions. Now the goal is to find the millions of viewers on earth who want to hear not just stories of rockets and spaceships, but of bringing all of human culture to space."

Alcohol in Space is the first of many films that will examine the expansion of human culture in space. While rockets and spaceships are essential to get there, a viable human civilization beyond Earth will require all human culture. This includes art, labor, literature, culinary arts, friendships, families, and of course a healthy dose of 'sex, drugs, and rock and roll.'

Culture in Space Productions is currently in preproduction for The Music of Space (), an exploration of the music and composers who have defined the sound of space in film and television – as well as the people who have performed music in 'real' space.
